988: New Suicide & Crisis Lifeline 

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, there is a new resource where you can get immediate help. The Suicide & Crisis Lifeline can now be reached at 988 from anywhere in the United States. When people call, text or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors who will listen, understand, support and connect them to resources if needed.

When should you call the hotline? You should call if you’re thinking about suicide, are worried about a friend or loved one, or if you need emotional support. People call the Lifeline for a lot of things, like substance abuse, relationships, abuse and loneliness.
